Portugal progress to historic semi-finals with win against defending champions

FRANCE – PORTUGAL 26-31 (10-14)
Portugal made throw semifinals t the 2019 IHF Men’s Youth World Championship after comfortable win over France with 31-26. They defeated France with a great performance and were in result control throughout the entire match. In semifinals Portugal will play against Egypt.

At the half – time, Portugal was four goals lead. Portugal offence was stronger than France’s, as the defending champions lost the ball many times when in attack. Portugal pulled ahead to a four-goal lead at the break, and at the 45-minute mark, when their leading attackers Andre Sousa and Martim Costa tallied eight and seven goals, respectively, they held steady in front at 23:19.

Martim Costa scored 11 goals for Portugal and his teammate Andre Sousa scored 9 for great win. Sadou Ntanzi and Antoine Tissot score five goals each for France.
