The national teams of Saudi Arabia and Serbia opened the last day of 2019 IHF Men’s Youth World Championship at Jane Sandanski Arena. Serbs took the 19th spot after the win against Saudi Arabia 28-23.
In the first half, the Asian opponent had the control on the court and didn’t allow to Serbs to score easy goals, so Arabians had two goals lead before the break, 14-12. In the second half, Serbia made comeback in the match. Their goalkeeper made few saves in a row, Mrvovic was effective in the attack, and they took the lead.
Arabians couldn’t do anything because the short bench, so Serbia didn’t have problems to kept the control of the court until the end for clear win, 28-23. The best scorer in Saudi Arabia was Hasan Alkhalif with seven goals and the best scorer in Serbia was Uros Kojadinovic with eight goals.
Aleksandar Radosavljevic (Serbia): We expect more on this championship, but we had many problems with the injuries of few players and we took 19th spot. We had the most difficult group, and we missed our chances for eight finals on the matches with Portugal and Brazil.
